Two teenage girls die, another injured after hit by speedy vehicle

Pulwama, Aug 5: Two girls died while another suffered critical injuries after a vehicle mowed down them while they were walking on road near Tulbagh area of saffron town Pampore here in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The incident occurred on late Tuesday evening.

Police sources told news agency KNT that a vehicle (JK13F-0346) hit three teen age girls and fled from the spot leaving them in a pool of blood. They were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Pampore where one among them identified as 15 year old girl Nazila succumbed to her injuries. The two other girls were shifted to SMHS Hospital.

Another girl identified as 19 year old Tabin Nazir breathed her last at SMHS Hospital. The third girl Nadika Rafiq who is 18 years old is getting treatment at the same hospital.

A police official said that a hunt has been launched to nab the driver. “A team has been constituted to identify the owner of the vehicle and he will be arrested,” he said adding that all these three girls were the residents of Tulbagh Pampore. (KNT)
