Srinagar, Aug 18: Burglars broke into the house of a retired government employee and stole gold and cash in Bemina area of Srinagar city.
The incident occurred at Hamdania Colony Sector 3B area during the intervening night of Aug 17 and 18.
Talking to Kashmir News Trust, the house owner, Ghulam Hasan Pathan said that thieves stole gold worth Rs 8 lakh and cash Rs 77,000. “A police team arrived here to assess the situation after we registered a complaint,” he said.
He added that stolen gold belonged to his daughters.
A police official said that a case has been registered and investigation taken up. (KNT)
