COVID-19: 29 travelers among 434 fresh cases; J&K tally mounts to 29,326

Srinagar district alone has over 7,000 cases, Recovery rate over 74 percent in UT

Srinagar, August 18 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 434 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 29 travelers, taking the number of total positive cases to 29,326 in the Union Territory. Of the total 29326 cases, 22,780 are from Kashmir and 6,546 from Jammu division.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 434 new cases, 346 belong to Kashmir division while as 88 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 22,780 including 16,945 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,546 including 4,941 recoveries and 41 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,879 including 5,315 from Kashmir division and 1,564 from Jammu division. With 590 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 21,886 which is 74.63 percent of the total cases. 

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 7,026 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,546.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 66 from Srinagar, 37 from Baramulla, 27 from Pulwama, 06 from Budgam, 42 from Anantnag, 16 from Kulgam, 03 from Shopian, 66 from Kupwara, 59 from Bandipora and 24 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 88 from Jammu division include 28 from Jammu, 02 from Rajouri, 03 from Kuthua, 13 from Udhampur, 05 from Ramban, 12 from Samba,  04 from Doda, 03 from Poonch, 14 from Reasi and 04 from Kishtiwar”, officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 7,026 positive cases including 177 deaths and 5,453 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,475 including 88 deaths and 1,745 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,122 including 1,651 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Pulwama,1,834 including 1,300 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Budgam, 1,857 including 43 deaths and 1,456 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,728 including 1,487 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,579 cases including 1,458 and 25 deaths are from Shopian, 1,637 including 1,134 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,535 including 751 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Bandipora and 987 including 510 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 2,033 including 1,265 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Jammu district, 790 including 690 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 677 including 571 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 662 including 557 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 629 including 601 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 589 including 413 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 343 including 299 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 347 including 299 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 302 including 127 recoveries are from Reasi and 185 including 163 recoveries are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 418,363 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,307 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,879 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 324,087 persons have completed surveillance period and 44,529 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 811,167 samples are available.

Out of 811,167 the number of samples tested negative stands at 781,841 while 29,326 have been tested positive, among them 6,879 are active and 21,886 persons have recovered—(KNO)
