Kupwara, Aug 31 : A person was killed and another on board passenger injured after a vehicle they were travelling met an accident at Kachama area of the district this evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that an Alto vehicle bearing Registration Number JK-01H 0737 while on its way from Kralpora towards Keran met an accident resulting in on spot death of one person and injury to another.
The deceased has been identified as Shahid Ahmad Khan (25) son of Safdar Khan and the injured as Waseem Ahmad Khan (20) son of Nasir Ahmad Khan, both residents of Mondian Keran.
The injured was evacuated to SDH Kralpora wherefrom he has been referred to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment, the reports said.
Meanwhile a police official has confirmed the incident.
“As per the information available there were three persons on board off which one died on the spot and another sustained injuries” he said adding “the third person has escaped from the spot and we looking for him.
