Eyewitnesses told news agency KNT that over a hundred engineers assembled outside Civil Secretariat holding placards and banners in their hands which read “Reserve our 30% quota”. “Revoke G.A.D order”, “Save our future” and “We want Justice”.

The protesters told KNT that Government had launched Self Help Group scheme in the year 2003 for unemployed engineers and proper guidelines were issued in the year 2017. But sometime back GAD department issued an order to abolish this scheme which is grave injustice with us.

“We are unemployed engineers who were working under this scheme and were also earning their livelihood from it, but we don’t know why this scheme was abolished,” the protesters said adding and demanded the immediate rollback of Government order NO. 752-JK (GAD) of 2020 Clause – 2(b) dated 10th August last month.
