One missing cop traced out, another still missing

Baramulla, Sep 17: A missing cop from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has been traced out while another cop from Jammu posted in Baramulla is still missing.

Police sources told news agency KNT that one Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar of Tangmarg had filed a missing report about his brother Reyaz Ahmed, a police man by profession, claiming that his brother who is posted at Pattan had left for Hail Pattan but neither he reached the designated area nor returned home.

Police swung into action and managed to locate the missing cop. A police official said that investigation is underway and cop is being questioned.

Meanwhile, a cop from Akhnoor who was supposed to report on duty has gone missing in Kashmir.

Sources said that Commanding Officer 9th Battalion IRP reported at police post Mirgund Baramulla that one Selection Grade Constable, Satish Kumar of Seri Plai Pallanulla Akhnoor, Jammu, proceeded on 12 days casual leave on 16 August last month and was due to report back for duty on 29 August.

The wife of the cop informed police that his husband told her on phone that he has reached Srinagar on 10 September but the said cop has not reported back to his duties till date.

In this regard a missing reported has been registered at police post Mirgund Pattan.

A police official said that efforts are on to locate the missing cop. (KNT)
