Civilian dies after army vehicle skids off the road in Kupwara 7 persons including 3 soldiers sustain injuries

Srinagar, Sep 25:A man was killed while 7 persons including 3 soldiers sustain injuries after an army vehicle skidded off the road in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources told news agency KNT that an army vehicle (89E-9308L) skidded off the road near Nad Behak area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara and rolled down into a deep Nallah, which resulted in on spot death of a man and injuries to 4 others standing on the road while three soldiers also suffered injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Daulat Ahmad Khan son Assad-ud-Din Khan of Marsari. The 4 persons who suffered injuries were identified as Naveed Qasim Khan, Javid Alamgir Khan, Ishfaq Bashir Khan, all residents of Marsari Chowkibal and Irshad Bashir Katariya of Tumina village.

The injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kralpora where from doctors referred them to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment.

Sources added that five persons including the deceased were on the road when they were hit by army vehicle before it rolled down deep into the nallah.

Three soldiers part of 216 Artillery Unit who were present in the vehicle also sustained injuries. They were identified Subaidar N.S Nambal Kar, Havaldar S.P Shivaji and N.K.C.M Chander Kanth. They were shifted to concerned Unit Hospital at Badi Behak.

A police official said that a case in this regard has been registered and investigation set into motion. KNT
