Handwara, Oct 12: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) trooper shot himself dead with his service rifle in Vilgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday.
An Official told news agency KDC that SSB trooper identified as Amit Kumar posted at 37 BN SSB Vilgam, a resident of Uttar Pradesh shoot himself with his service rifle.
Soon after the incident, the colleagues rushed towards the SSB trooper and found him in a pool of blood.
He was immediately rushed to SDH Handwara where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case pertaining to the incident and investigations into the cause of taking the extreme step by the SSB trooper is on.
