COVID-19: 5 patients die, 566 test positive in J&K

Total cases 94,330, death toll reaches 1,471 deaths; recovery rate over 91 percent in UT

Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir Friday recorded five Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,471 in the Union Territory while 566 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 94,330.

Of the total 93,330 cases, 56,702 are from Kashmir and 37,628 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 566 new cases, 347 belong to Kashmir division while as 219 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 56,702 including 50,877 recoveries and 978 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 37,628 including 35,147 recoveries and 493 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,835 including 4,847 from Kashmir division and 1,988 from Jammu division.

With 654 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 86,024 which is 91.19 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 141 from Srinagar, 26 from Budgam, 66 from Baramulla, 20 from Pulwama, 25 from Kupwara, 12 from Anantnag, 14 from Bandipora, 28 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 12 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 219 from Jammu division include 109 from Jammu, 05 from Rajouri, 30 from Udhampur, 14 from Doda, 14 from Kuthua, 08 from Poonch, 06 from Samba, 19 from Kishtiwar, 07 from Ramban and 07 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, five persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include three from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar, Kupwara and Baramulla in Kashmir division while as four deaths from Jammu division include one each from Jammu district and Doda.

As per officials figures, 19,245 positive cases including 353 deaths and 17,293 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,974 including 94 deaths and 5,595 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,946 including 4,328 recoveries and 145 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,648 including 4,360 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,419 including 73 deaths and 3,935 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,224 including 3,915 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,031 cases including 3,754 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,533 including 3,283 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,482 including 2,344 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,200 including 2,070 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 17,458 including 16,368 recoveries and 255 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,190 including 3,077 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,700 including 2,535 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,654 including 2,476 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Doda, 2,439 including 2,346 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,247 including 1,991 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,168 including 1,879 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,909 including 1,790 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,590 including 1,503 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Ramban and 1,273 including 1,182 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 655,274 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,336 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,835 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 585,568 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,064 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,284,588 samples are available.

Out of 2,284,588 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,190,258 while as 94,330 have tested positive, among them 6,835 are active, 86,024 persons have recovered and 1,471 persons have died—(KNO)
