New Delhi, Nov 03: Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman from Aurangabad on charges of duping several men on the pretext of marriage reported The Times of India.
The woman allegedly married three men in the last three months and ran away with their valuables.
‘JOINED RACKET AFTER LOSING JOB’
Vijaya Amrute, a resident of Mukundwadi area, and her husband lost their jobs during the lockdown. Facing financial problems, the woman joined a racket and married three men in the last three months, the report added.
The racket was exposed after one Yogesh Shirsath of Nashik district was looking for his wife only to realise that she had already married another man and disappeared with valuables.
A complaint was registered and the accused was arrested on Saturday.
THE RACKET
During the preliminary probe, it was revealed that she first married Yogesh and fled after staying with him for a fortnight. She then married Sandeep Darade of Karjat in Raigad. The third marriage was with a man from western Maharashtra, the TOI report added.
