Groom prefers right to vote first, keeps bride waiting at marriage hall in Udhampur

Jammu, Dec 01: Stating the casting vote is above all other responsibilities, a groom preferred to exercise his right to vote first and kept the bride waiting at a marriage in Udhampur of Jammu in the second phase of District Development Council (DDC) polls in J&K.

Karan Singh son of Kartar Singh, a resident of Kaslote village of Udhampur was on his way to the marriage hall where his wife was waiting for the arrival of the groom.

However, Karan appeared at a polling station established at middle school Kaslote where he casted his vote.

“Marriage is one of the most important event in someone’s life but voting is a right and I decided to go for voting before going to the marriage hall,” Karan told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
