Pulwama, Dec 03: Growing up in the Tral area of Pulwama, Sheikh Insha Jan has always been greatly influenced by the traditional art of painting, drawing, and sketching.

Insha is presently pursuing her career in Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA) at Kashmir University, besides working on several theme based projects of art.
Talking to the Arising State, Insha said that she is very eager to promote the traditional art in the valley.
She rued that Kashmir University offers only bachelor’s program in Fine Arts subject, due to which hundreds of students fail to pursue a masters degree in it, mostly because of the financial and other social constraints.
“My way of sketching and painting is very different. At a young age, I knew I had a creative side. I was interested in art, since my childhood, which is the reason that I am here today to chase my dreams. However, I yearn to see this subject among the other top subjects, as it can help us to promote the art of painting, sketching, and calligraphy here,” Insha Said.
She further said that common people lack extensive knowledge related to Art, owing to which they rarely suggest their wards to pursue the degree or any other course in this subject.
In a reply to a question ,’as how art skills can be gained,’ ? To which ,Insha honestly accredits it to ones , hard work, perseverence and commitment .
“It is not possible for everyone to go outside the UT and pursue degrees or other courses in art. Introduction of art subject in schools, colleges, besides Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in Kashmir University, may help us in promoting and recognizing the art here and may also help many of us to make a career in it,” She told Arising State.
