Petrol, Diesel Price Today (February 23): After 2 days pause, fuel prices hiked again—check price in metros

New Delhi, Feb 23: After keeping it steady for two days, Petrol and diesel prices were once again hiked on Tuesday (February 23).  The prices of petrol and diesel was increased by 35 paise per litre each in the national capital, as per Indian Oil Corporation. With these hikes, petrol and diesel prices have hit their all-time highs in Delhi. Petrol is now costing Rs 90.93 per litre against Rs 90.58 on Monday, while diesel price soared to Rs 81.32 per litre as compared to Rs 80.97 per litre yesterday.

Similar hike were also made in other metro cities.

In Mumbai, Petrol now costs Rs 97.34 per litre and diesel Rs 88.44 per litre. In Chennai, petrol is being sold for Rs 92.90 per litre and diesel Rs 86. 31 per litre on Monday.  The prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 91.12 and Rs 84.20 per litre in Kolkata.

Daily price changes for Petrol and Diesel are effected at 6 am every day.

Petrol and diesel prices in India have been skyrocketing relentlessly over the past two weeks burning a hole in the common man’s pockets. With the price of petrol crossing Rs 100 per litre in several cities in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and diesel breaching Rs 80 per litre, the Centre is facing flak for refusing to reduce excise duty on fuel prices.
