Kashmir parts receive fresh snowfall, plains get rains

MeT predicts improvement in weather from tomorrow

Weather likely to remain dry till Dec 2 in J-K: MeT

Srinagar, Feb 26: The parts of Kashmir including the famous ski-resort, Gulmarg received a fresh snowfall on Friday while plains and other areas received light rainfall, bringing the temperature down across the Valley.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), several higher reaches of the Valley including Gulmarg received fresh snowfall. Zojilla and Drass area of Ladakh Union Territory also received fresh snowfall.

The plains in the Valley including the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, received light intermittent rainfall today.

The fresh snow and rainfall across Kashmir has brought the temperature down in the Valley.

Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonam Lotus told KNO that the light intermittent rain and snowfall would continue across Kashmir till late evening.

He said that as per the predication the weather remained generally cloudy with intermittent snow and rainfall in different places of the Valley and Ladakh Union Territory.

Lotus further stated that the weather would conditions would improve from tomorrow across Kashmir, saying that there is no forecast of major snowfall or rainfall in the coming days.

He added that the temperature that recorded dip today will rise again from tomorrow—(KNO)
