Pahalgam, Mar 27: After losing their mother last year, two minors studying in class nursery and 2nd in a government school in Frislan area of Pahalgam were compelled to “beg” before tourists to treat their sick father.
Mohammad Yousuf who is suffering from a Kidney disease while talking with—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that he has no source of income and his two children Rohey Jan (07) and Aayan (04) are going to Betaab valley which is around 1 km from their residence to ask tourists for monetary help for household expenses besides treatment.
Yousuf, who is living in a tin shed, said that he needs money for his treatment besides owes around Rs 50,000 to people which he has taken for his medical expenses.
Rohey Jan said that they are going through difficult times as there is no one in their family to feed them, “thus leaving them with no option other than to beg.”
“We are trying to save some money to treat our sick father but whatever we get hardly make our two ends meet,” Jan said.
Jan along with his brother Aayan requested people to help them wholeheartedly so that they can treat their father so that he again can go to work.
Yousuf said though doctor from Anantnag has extended help in treatment but he even don’t have the money to reach Anantnag to treat himself.
“I once visited DC office Anantnag but they gave me Rs 2,000. I need over Rs 60,000 for treatment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Azad Ahmad posted at GMC Anantnag while talking with KNO said that the hospital is willing to bear all expenses for Yousuf’s treatment, “given he visits the hospital.”—(KNO)
