Amid pandemic, teachers to counsel students at Govt, Pvt schools

Srinagar, Jun 08: Amid pandemic, the child protection and counseling cell of School Education Department has directed the nominated teacher to counsel the students’ of government and private schools on-call.

The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has devised a roster for weekly on-call counseling.

According to the roaster, the department has asked Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Kashmir division to reach-out to every student and counsel them as per their need.

“It is the endeavor of the department in this context and the nominated district teacher counselors are connecting about 1000 students and providing them on-call counseling on a daily basis,” it reads.

The department also said that in order to enable students of government as well as private schools to avail the facility of the counseling, a roster has been prepared by the child protection and counseling cell of the DSEK.

Director of the department, Tassaduk Hussain Mir in a notification directed the nominated teacher counselors to attend calls from the desirous students on the scheduled dates between 11:00 am to 03:00 pm.

“The teacher counselors are required to submit the report on a daily basis to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir,” he said—(KNO)
