Bandipora, June 10: Police in Mangnipora village of Aloosa in North kashmir’s Bandipora district have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession on Thursday.
According to a statement, acting on a specific information,a police party led by SHO PS Bandipora Inspector Showkat Ahmad and I/C Police Post Aloosa SI Shakeel Ahmad under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Mohmmad Idress -JKPS, during naka checking at Mangnipora Aloosa crossing arrested one person along with 250 Tablets of Sposmoproxyvan/plus.
It said that the accused has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Jan son of Ali Mohmad Jan of Qazipora Bandipora.
“During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied to youths of the area to make them drug addict, ” the statement said.
It futher said that accordingly case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.
People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs, reads the statement.
