Anantnag, Aug 12: A youth from Kokernag hamlet in South Kashmir has brought laurels by getting second position in all India speech competition “Know Your Country”.
Muneer Ahmad Tantray (16) a student of class 11th in science stream from Hiller Kokernag has topped in the north zone and has got second position at national level competition.
Tantray while talking with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that three months the competition was organised by Gandhi global family and its theme was Know Your Country.
“The competition started at district level and then at the state level at zone level and I topped in the north zone of India,” he said.
“Finally among around 1000 participants, there was a competition between youth of six zones of India where I got second position,” he said, adding that he is very happy to get the second position and is hopeful that in upcoming competitions he will excel his talent more.
Tantray said that in speech debate you have to give a powerpoint presentation before United Nation delegates and you have to tell about the specialities of the country besides challenges and how to overcome them.
“Later United Nation delegates had given us 17 sustainable goals on which I had to speak,” he said, adding that he also spoke about the India relationship with neighboring countries and how peace and trust will be established between them by increasing trade, tourism and exchange of prisoners.
“Besides that I spoke about social issues of country like communalism, rapes, dowry, child labour, poverty and other things and finally I got second position for which I got certificate of appreciations from various prestigious universities,” he said—(KNO)
