Meet Covid warrior Aijaz Bhat:  A lab technician at forefront to fight against virus

Ganderbal, Oct 15: A lab technician working under National Health Mission (NHM) in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has actively helped district administration in fighting against the Covid-19 in the district.

Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Saloora Ganderbal, has so far taken thousands of samples for Covid-19 testing besides providing a helping hand in burial of Covid positive patients while following Covid appropriate behavior.

Bhat while talking with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that since the inception of Covid-19 he has been taking hundreds of samples on daily basis and the process continuous.

Bhat said that besides samples he has taken active part in surveillance, awareness and contact tracing of positive cases.
“In the past two years I have taken samples of many travelers visiting Ganderbal, he said.

In the line of duty, Bhat and family came positive, but that didn’t deter him from continuing his work.

“I am presently working at DC Office Ganderbal for sampling. Besides, I visit red zones, schools, colleges, sumo stands and other crowded places to take samples of people,” he said—(KNO)
