‘Arabic Curriculum Taught in Schools, Future and Challenges’: Panel Discussion held at Aarifeen School of Excellence, Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 27: A panel discussion on ‘Arabic Curriculum Taught in Schools, Future and Challenges’ was held at Aarifeen School of Excellence, Delina Baramulla. The panel discussion was hosted by the Department of Arabic, ASE with experts deliberating on the abundant challenges regarding the teaching and learning of Arabic language in the educational institutions. The speakers agreed that to formulate a curriculum according to the age and level of the students and the focus on teaching the standard Arabic language is the need of the hour.

The experts present on this occasion were Masid Siddiq Ganai Al Qaseemi (Professor Quranic Sciences Preston International College Chennai),Dr Nasir Sana ul-lah (Assistant Professor), Pir Muhammad Hussain (Lecturer Arabic), Dr Musaddiq Majid Khan (PhD Islamic Studies), Dr. Abdul Rahman War (Retd College Principal), Yasir Majeed Ganai (Principal Madrasah al-Eeman Bandipora), Sajjad Hussain Nadwi ( Chairman Jamia Riyaz ul Saliheen Batingo Sopore), Mohammad Ashraf War (Teacher Jamia Riyaz ul Saliheen Batingo Sopore), Mutahir Ahmad Lohar (Arabic Scholar Delhi University), Dr Firdous Umari ( Arabic Lecturer).

The panelists thoroughly discussed the challenges faced regarding the teaching of Arabic language in the contemporary schools and other educational institutions. The panelists agreed that there are abundant challenges in teaching and learning of Arabic language in Kashmir.

They also showed a keen interest to contribute their expertise in the development of a world class curriculum in the Arabic language.

The participants of the discussion all agreed that conducting such debates and discussions regarding Arabic Language is the need of the hour.

Shaykh Maasid one of the panelists while deliberating on the topic said that formulation of an activity based curriculum according to the age and level of the students and teaching the standard Arabic language which is the language of Quran And Sunnah is the need of the hour.

He further said that serving Arabic language in any way is a virtue and evey Muslim should strive to learn it.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. War said that in the course of the development we need to arrange a training program for teachers regarding how to teach Arabic. We should also arrange scholarships for those students who are economically unsound and want to do research in the field of Arabic Language.

He said that workshops should be organised for teaching and learning Arabic language.

Other esteemed guests also put forward their valuable suggestions regarding the development of the Arabic language.

The session was moderated by ASE Arabic educator Mr. Muzaffar Ahmad Waggey. Other Arabic Educators Mr. Showkat Ahmed Teli and Zubair Ahmad Teli were also present on this occasion.
