Srinagar, Aug 29: In a surprising development, at least 57 percent of students of Jammu and Kashmir who have gone through the recent National Achievement Survey (NAS) have scored less than fifty percent.

According to the official documents available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads, “Differences in the learning levels among the students of a same class have increased and 57 of the students have scored less than 50 percent in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.”

About the immediate measures that have been proposed to improve the outcomes include implementation of RTE-Act and making it compulsory to codify expected levels of learning which students in Classes I to VIII should achieve in different subjects.

“Converting every classroom into a smart classroom and to ensure that focus of teaching learning and assessment is shifted from content mastery to competency mastery as envisaged in NEP-2020,” it reads.
