Srinagar, Sep 17: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has picked up different loopholes in Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department and has subsequently asked the concerned authorities to focus on those indicators.

According to the official documents available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the MoE said this while reviewing the governance process and the indicators required to lay more focus on.

“The Union Territory (UT) of J&K needs to focus more on the average number of days taken by the government to release the total central share of funds to the society,” it reads.

The ministry also said that the authority needs to focus on releasing total state share due to the UT society during the given financial year.

“It also should improve the percentage of training for government head-teachers and principals on School Leadership (SL) training in the given financial year,” MoE said.

The documents further state that there was a need to improve the percentage of training for government and government aided teachers within the sanctioned number of days of training in the given financial year.

MoE said that the UT further needs to focus more on improving the percentage of academic positions filled in state and district academic institutions State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), State Institute of Education (SIE) and District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIETs).

A day before KNO reported that the ministry has said that there was need to lay more focus on improvement of net enrolment at both lower and secondary level to develop the learning outcomes and quality of education—(KNO)
