Kupwara, Jun 15: A young boy from Maidan Mohallah of Machil village in Kupwara has qualified NEET with flying colors in the first attempt without even attending coaching classes.
Gayas Gayas Ud Din Bhat son of Mohammad Shafi Bat of Maidan Mohallah in Machil has qualified NEET with 526 marks in the recently declared results.
A student of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Dudi Machil, Gayas did not attend any tuition to prepare himself for the prestigious NEET.
Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he said that he has been preparing for the examination on his own in Machil. “I have been readying for this examination for the last two years. I worked very hard to achieve this feat,” he said.
He said that his father is a labourer by profession and runs a small Kiryana shop at his native place. But due to health issues of his father, Gayas would run the shop as well as prepare for the exams. Gayas said that he used to attend classes during the day and engage in family work. “I would stay up for the entire night and prepare for the examination. I used to study for at least 10 to 12 hours regularly,” he said. “It was a tough task. I will access Youtube to prepare for the examination.”
He said that he had to feed his family because his father was bedridden during preparations.
Apart from Gayas, two more students from the Machil sector have qualified NEET. Mehraj Ahmad and Zuhaib Amin have qualified NEET with 476 and 456. The fathers of both Mehraj and Zuhaib are working in the education department as teachers—(KNO)
