Pulwama, Aug 27: The Indian Army organized a national integration event titled “Mera Desh Meri Pehchan” in Panzgom, Pulwama on August 25-26, 2023. The event was attended by over 1800 school children and college students from South Kashmir.
The event was aimed at creating awareness about the traditions, rich cultural heritage, and glorious past of India among the youth of South Kashmir. It also sought to inculcate a sense of nationalism and motivate the youth to constructively contribute to nation-building.
The program included a variety of cultural events, competitions, and informative sessions. The participants were also made aware of various entry schemes and opportunities available for the youth in the Armed Forces.
Dr. Basharat Qayoom, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, visited the event and interacted with the students. He congratulated the prize winners and stressed on the need to spread the message of nationalism and take pride in being citizens of India. He also appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army for organizing the event successfully and the youth for participating enthusiastically.
The “Mera Desh Meri Pehchan” event was a great success and it is hoped that it will have a positive impact on the youth of South Kashmir. It is important to instill a sense of nationalism and patriotism among the youth, especially in the current times. This event is a step in the right direction and it is hoped that more such events will be organized in the future.
