Anantnag, Oct 01: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Anantnag has issued an explanation notice to the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Soaf Shali Kokernag regarding a mass casual leave incident that occurred on September 30, 2023.
The notice, dated September 30, 2023, addressed several concerns raised by the CEO, who cited a WhatsApp communication received from the Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) of Kokernag as the reference. The CEO questioned why 20 out of 30 staff members of the institution were on leave on the specified date, which appeared to reflect a lack of responsibility and diligence on the part of the Principal.
Furthermore, the notice highlighted that all Heads of Institutions (HOI) had been previously informed by the District Nodal Officer (JK Attendance) that no leaves would be approved for September 30 and October 1, 2023, due to the scheduled Swachhta Hisewa (cleanliness service) activities in every institution. The failure of the institution to participate and contribute to the pre-cleaning day activities was viewed as a sign of leniency and insensitivity.
As a result of these concerns, the Principal of Government HSS Soaf Shali Kokernag has been directed to appear at the CEO’s office on October 1, 2023, Sunday, at 11:30 AM, accompanied by the staff members who were absent on September 30, 2023.
Additionally, the Principal is expected to submit a written response to the explanation. Failure to comply with these directives may lead to further actions, including recommendations for severe disciplinary actions as per the rules and regulations.
