Shopian, Oct 11: In a significant move to protect the rights and well-being of women and children, the District Police Chief of Shopian, Tanushree IPS, inaugurated a dedicated special cell within the District Police Lines. The cell is designed to provide a platform for women and children facing domestic violence to register their complaints.

The inauguration of this special cell was marked by a ceremony attended by Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters, Javeed Ahmad, and local community members. District Police Chief Tanushree IPS emphasized the importance of addressing domestic violence issues in the district. She highlighted that the cell would focus on providing assistance and support to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Tanushree IPS also stressed the importance of encouraging victims to come forward and seek help. She stated that the cell is equipped with counseling facilities to provide assistance and guidance to affected individuals and families. If counseling doesn’t yield the desired results, the cell will explore legal options to ensure justice is served.

Members of affected families present at the inauguration expressed their hope that their cases would be resolved swiftly, with optimism that domestic violence issues in the district could be minimized through this initiative.
