Qazigund, Dec 17: In a bid to foster sportsmanship, the CRPF 163-Battalion orchestrated a thrilling T-20 cricket match on Friday, at the Headquarters in Qazigund. The much-anticipated game featured Govt Degree College Qazigund and the Panzath Eleven.
The Chief Guest, Commandant Ajay Kumar, inaugurated the match, setting the stage for an exciting competition. Panzath Eleven won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a challenging target of 66 runs for Govt Degree College Qazigund.
In a display of skill, Govt Degree College Qazigund chased down the target, securing victory by seven wickets. The culmination of the match was marked by a felicitation ceremony conducted by CRPF-163Bn dignitaries.
Rameez Gani from the 6th semester of GDC Qazigund emerged as the Man of the Match, while Fasil Ahmad and Shahid Ahmad of the 3rd semester were recognized as the best bowler and best batsman, respectively. The three players received trophies and medals in acknowledgment of their outstanding performance.
Both teams were lauded and presented with medals and uniforms as tokens of appreciation for their spirited participation. The prestigious trophy was awarded to the victorious GDC Qazigund team. Additionally, the organizers donated a cricket kit to the Department of Physical Education and Sports at GDC Qazigund.
Furthermore, under the patronage of the Principal GDC Qazigund Prof. G.R. Verma, along with Prof. Aufaq Ahmad Zargar, Prof. Showkat Ahmad Malik, and other faculty members, a felicitation ceremony took place on Saturday, at the college. The players of the college cricket team were honored with medals and certificates.
