Srinagar Police organized drug de-addiction awareness programme at Illahi Bagh

Srinagar, Mar 27: Srinagar Police Zone Hazratbal, organized the drug de-addiction awareness programme at Green Valley Educational Institute in Illahi Bagh, Srinagar.

SP Hazratbal, Hilal Khaliq Bhat, highlighted the positive role of Jammu and Kashmir police in promoting peace, prosperity, and brotherhood.

Participants made a solemn commitment to unequivocally abandon drug addiction and actively work towards eradicating drug abuse from their lives and communities.

SP Hazratbal emphasized that the aim of these programmes was to raise awareness about the drug menace and drug de-addiction measures, while stressing the role of the police and other stakeholders in combating drug abuse.

Distinguished dignitaries from various walks of life, students, faculty members, and representatives from civil society organizations participated in the event.

SP Hazratbal, Sh. Hilal Khaliq Bhat, JKPS, SDPO Hazratbal, Sh. Ashiq Hussain, SHO Zadibal Gowher Ali, SHO Ahmed Nagar participated in the drug de-addiction awareness programme, along with expert Mr. Abid Hussain, senior mental health counsellor from the Youth Development Centre Eidgah Srinagar.

Students from Green Valley Educational Institute attended the program. They presented a cultural program, and ten students delivered lectures on the subject.

Moreover, Rs. 3000 was given to participants of the cultural program, Rs. 2000 to the band group. Mementoes/certificates were presented to the participants/jury members, and consolation prizes were also distributed at the event. Additionally, packed refreshments were distributed among all the participants present at the event.
