Srinagar, Apr 14: PDP Youth President and Parliament candidate for the Srinagar-Pulwama-Ganderbal constituency, Waheed ur Rehman Parra, on sunday visited many areas of Srinagar and Pulwama districts during his trail campaign, addressing numerous public meetings. These meetings held in various areas of Habakadal, Pulwama, Pampore, and Rajpora constituencies.

During his trail campaign, Parra as per Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com urged party workers to reach out to the people, aiming to strengthen the party and spread vision of Party President Mehbooba Mufti to the doorsteps of the people.

During public meetings, he interacted with people from far-flung areas of the Srinagar Parliament constituency and took stock of the problems faced by the residents, including the lack of electricity, water supply, and road connectivity.

Parra, while interacting with the media on the sidelines of a public meeting in Pulwama, questioned, if Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal can provide free electricity, why can’t we. He promised to provide free electricity in Jammu during summer and Kashmir during winter if voted into power.

He said, “The day our party forms its government in the upcoming elections, we will provide free electricity like it is being given in the National capital, Delhi.” He assured that he would represent the aspirations of the people of Kashmir in Parliament if elected and pledged to address all student and Kashmir community issues promptly by liaising with the respective governments.

Highlighting that the people of Kashmir entrusted sitting and current parliament members from the Kashmir valley with their hopes in 2019, believing they would be steadfast advocates of their rights in Parliament, he expressed disappointment in their performance since August 5th, 2019. “For God’s sake, tell me, why should people vote for these MPs when they’ve mastered the art of parliamentary disappearing acts since August 5th, 2019?” Waheed questioned.
