ACB files case against RDD officials for misappropriation of funds in Kishtwar

J&K UT’s budget to be presented in Parliament today

Jammu, Jul 03: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against officials of Rural Development Department block Dachhan of Kishtwar district for misappropriation of funds worth over Rs 30 lakh.

According to a statement, issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the case was filed against Parveen Sharma, then BDO Block Dachhan, Mohd Abass then VLW, Mohd Hussain then VLW, Munshi Ram then VLW, Ranjeet Raina then GRS, Daleep Kumar then GRS, Asif Hussain sarpanch panchayat Janakpur and others.

The statement reads that the verification revealed that the officials under will-knit conspiracy with each other and beneficiaries, dishonestly and fraudulently abused their official positions to misappropriate amount of Rs 30,25,264 for 20 randomly selected different works of panchayat Loharna-B and Janakpur meant for execution of works under different schemes on account of payments for the material supplied with consequent loss to the state exchequer.

“During the course of investigation house search of accused public servant namely Parveen Sharma, then BDO Dachhan situated has also been conducted. Further investigation in the case is in progress,” it reads—(KNO)
