Kulgam Police arrests four gamblers, Stake money of ₹80000/- seized

Kulgam, January 23: Kulgam Police have arrested 04 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

On a specific information regarding gambling activities at Humshali bugh, a police party led by SHO police station Yaripora raided the spot. On seeing the police party gamblers tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Haroon Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Malik, Liyaqat Hussain son of Mohd Hussain Malik, Saqib Ahmad Mochi Son of Reyaz Ahmad Mochi residents of Yaripora and Jehangir Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Ahsan Dar resident of Kujjar, Frisal*. Stake money of *₹80000*/- & playing cards were recovered from their possession.

In this connection, case under relevant sections of gambling Act stands registered at *PS Yaripora* and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local Police units or Dial-112.
