Srinagar, Jan 29: Casual labourers and daily wagers of Wildlife department Wednesday protested outside chief minister’s residence in Srinagar, demanding regularisation of services and wages at par with other employees.

Scores of daily wagers and casual labourers assembled outside CM’s Gupkar residence to press for their demands.

“We have been serving the department for over a decade and unfortunately, our pleas have been ignored so far,” said one of the protesters.

He said that the government should look into the matter and fulfill the demands at the earliest

A delegation of the protesters also met National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah. “The NC President assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with the minister concerned in Jammu on Monday,” the protesters informed.

They, however, said that in case their demands are not met, they will continue their protest—(KNO)
