Public Awareness Program Held at Town Hall Yaripora to Educate Citizens on New Criminal Laws

Kulgam, April 12: A public awareness program was Saturday held at Townhall kulgam to educate citizens about the newly introduced criminal laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act (BNSS), 2023.

The event was attended by several notable officials, including Tehsildar Yaripora Javaid Iqbal

Tehsildar Yaripora explained the key provisions of the new criminal laws, highlighting changes such as stricter punishments, increased fines, and the introduction of community service for certain offenses. The laws also prioritize protecting vulnerable groups, including women and children.

The officials emphasized the importance of awareness programs like this one, as they help citizens understand their rights and responsibilities under the new legal system.
