Anantnag, Jun 29: In a major outreach to the families affected by terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced a fast-track mechanism on Saturday for delivering long-awaited justice and support to victims’ families.
Speaking in Pahalgam, Anantnag, LG Sinha, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), acknowledged the long years of pain and neglect that many such families have faced and assured them of speedy redressal.
“I know you have been waiting for justice for many years. Today, I want to tell you that your wait is now over,” LG Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor outlined a two-pronged approach to support: employment for eligible family members and financial assistance for entrepreneurship. He directed that family members of those who lost their lives to terrorism and are entitled to government jobs should submit their cases to the concerned Deputy Commissioner (DC) immediately.
“The process of appointment will be expedited, and the cases will be settled within 30 days,” Sinha said.
LG Sinha also offered an alternative: “Family members who want to start their own business will be provided financial help and assistance by the Government of India,” he added—(KNO)
