Arms and Ammunition Recovered in Kupwara During Joint Operation

Kupwara, Aug 24: Security forces on Sunday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Doriban Madhama Awora area of Trehgam, Kupwara district.

Officials said the operation was launched jointly by the 98 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police (PP Awora) following specific intelligence input from the Unit Intelligence Cell (UIC) of CRPF.

During the search, the following items were recovered One hand grenade, Ten AK-47 rounds, One telescope, Six detonators and One Pakistan-made backpack

A police official said the recovery has foiled possible militant activities in the area.
