Budgam, Sep 04: A terrorist was killed and an AK rifle along with war-like stores were recovered during a joint search operation by the Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district, Army officials said.
In a post on social media platform X, the Army as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the operation was launched following an encounter in the area, adding that the search operation is currently underway.
“OP ASHDAR, Budgam: Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice and @crpf_srinagar in general area Ashdar Gali, Budgam,” the post reads.
“It reads: Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and, upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire, during which one terrorist was neutralised and one AK rifle along with other war-like stores were recovered. Search operation is in progress,” it added.—(KNO)
