Pulwama, Feb 01: A youth from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district known for his artwork has sold over 150 sketch pieces so far.
Umer Hamid Bhat, 20, a resident of Sonasamil village in Rajpora Tehsil of Pulwama has decided to make his carrier in artwork and is pursuing a course in 3D modelling from a private Institute in Srinagar.
While talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bhat said that since childhood he was interested in artwork and it was in class 5, when he started to take part in art competitions.
“It was in Chandigarh, where I got inspired by the artwork of some artists and I started to attend art exhibition”, he said, adding that he even makes sketches of Holy Khan-e-Kaba on small stones.
“Initially, I receive a very less support from family, however, now the family is fully supporting me in my artwork,” he said. “I have decided to make my carrier in the same field as I am pursuing a course in 3D modelling.”
“So far I have made over 200 sketches and among them, I have already sold over 150. I continue to make more and more sketches, besides that orders for sketches have also started to come,” he said.
Bhat said several youth are learning artwork from him while requesting aspiring artists to work hard and continue the struggle to achieve the dreams—(KNO)
