Srinagar, Feb 26: While the government schools are lagging behind the private schools in pass percentage of class 10th results, some 328 government schools have secured 80 to 100 pass percentage in the 2020-annual regular exams.
Of 328 schools, 63 schools fall in Budgam district while 56 schools having pass percentage of more than 80 percent are in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
The new agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that Pulwama and Anantnag districts of South Kashmir have 48 and 40 such schools respectively. Ganderbal with four schools has the lowest number of such schools in the Valley.
Kupwara, Shopian, Kulgam and Srinagar have 38, 30, 25 and 17 such schools respectively. Bandipora has 7 schools who registered a pass percentage of more than 80 percent in the annual regular results.
The results, as per the officials, have been secured amid pandemic which heavily affected the normal academic work in government schools after schools switched over to online teaching.
“Many students in these government schools lacked smart gadgets and other resources, which otherwise were not needed in normal academic activities. Despite these challenges, students in government schools worked hard and achieved good results,” an official of Education Department said—(KNO)
