Hathras, Mar 07: The law and order situation seems to have collapsed in Uttar Pradesh. This was evident when a man was shot dead by miscreants for complaining against the sexual harassment of his daughter in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. In the latest incident, the man has been killed for complaining to police about the continuous sexual harassment of his daughter.
Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action against the accused including slapping of National Security Act (NSA).
The incident took place in Nauzarpur village under Sasni police station jurisdiction of the district on Monday evening. Police said the victim had filed a complaint against the accused Gaurav Sharma around 2.5 years back. According to police, the murder was the fallout of a verbal spat on Monday between Gaurav’s wife and Amrish’s daughters after which Gaurav along with 3 of his associates approached the victim at his field and shot him dead.
Amrish breathed his last while on his way to the hospital. The victim’s daughter reached the hospital and told police that her father was shot dead for complaining against the sexual harassers. The police have sent the body for post-mortem. DSP Ruchi Gupta said the victim’s family has filed a complaint naming the accused. She said the police are probing the matter.
Meanwhile, Amrish’s daughter Parul’s video has gone viral where she can be seen asking for justice and accusing Gaurav Sharma of having murdered her father because he resisted eve-teasing. Police said they arrested two of the four accused. The main accused Gaurav Sharma, however, is still absconding.
