Srinagar, Mar 19: Emotional scenes were witnessed at Hazratbal shrine on the eve of Friday following Mehraj-ul-Aalam (SAW) after the devotees had a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) post mandatory congregational prayers.
The devotees including men and women from different parts of the Valley, who thronged to the shrine today, were seen reciting verses of holy Qur’an when the holy relic was displayed.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the devotees were seen crying while the holy relic was being displayed.
The holy relic was displayed after every prayer today. Witnesses said that the rush of devotees was higher than last Friday when the Muslims across the globe observed Mehraj-ul-Aalam.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration as well as the traffic department here to ensure the devotees will not suffer.
Besides issuing a route plan, the traffic department had also made special parking arrangements for the devotees today.
The congregational prayers were also witnessed at Khanyar & Sarai Bala Dastgeer Sahab shrine, Khanqah-e-Moula and other major shrines and Masjids.
The religious clerics on the occasion threw light on the teachings and lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Pertinently, Muslims couldn’t visit the shrines and Masjids on this day last year due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, which claimed nearly 2000 lives so far in Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
