Light rains continue in plains, higher reaches receive snowfall in J-K

Srinagar, Apr 06: The light rainfall continued for the second straight day on Tuesday while the higher reaches received fresh snowfall, bringing down the temperature further down in the Valley.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the higher reaches including Drass area in Ladakh Union Territory received fresh snowfall today.

The Meteorological department informed that there is possibility of light rains and snowfall across Kashmir till April 07.

In the weather advisory issued for two days, the Meteorological department has stated that the wet weather conditions would lead to disruption of surface traffic, adding that the weather conditions can also lead to landslides and shooting stones on NH 44 and NH1d.

“The water logging in low laying areas of Kashmir valley may also be witnessed till April 07,” the advisory reads.

The MeT officials said that the prevalent weather conditions would continue till April 07 following which the conditions would improve, saying that the weather conditions would improve from April 08—(KNO)
