Srinagar, Jun 02: Terming the easing of restrictions by the government as mockery, the transporters at Parimpora Bus Stand Wednesday said that their movement is being restricted at various places in wake of the red zones declared by the administration.

“Though we have been allowed to ply with 50 per cent seating capacity, our movement to red zones is still being restricted,” General Manager Western Bus Stand, Mohammad Sultan Dar told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

He said that the unlocking announced by the government is nothing less than a cruel joke for the transporters. “We feel that it is better to continue with the lockdown rather than announcing half-hearted and unfavourable decisions,” he said.

Dar further said that the transporters are not happy with the decision keeping in view of restricting their movement. “We are not allowed to move from Batmaloo towards other areas as most of the areas fall under the Red Zone category,” he added.

“Lockdown is better than this unlocking in which we can’t move to other areas. How is it a transporter friendly decision when we can’ even earn our livelihood. It is a sheer mockery by administration for us as we are not even able to earn for our diesel and petrol,” he said—(KNO)
