Srinagar, Jul 09: A woman, hailing barely 25 kilometers away from the summer capital of the Union Territory, Srinagar, has set an example by coming up with a detergent factory, which has been giving livelihood to at least seven girls.

It has been just three years since she started her own business unit, where detergent is being manufactured.

“Although the three years witnessed frequent lockdown for one reason or the other, but still I have managed to take my business unit at the position of no profit no loss,” Zara Tanzeel, owner of Kashmir Sheen detergent powder, who hails from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Tanzeel, who is B.Com and B.Ed, said that she got married in the year 2017 and soon after starting her second life; she thought of doing something new that would set an example within the society.

“My in-laws, especially my husband, are quite supportive. This family has helped me in every aspect in structuring and running the business unit. With their support, it became too easy for me to start the venture,” Tanzeel added.

Tanzeel said that she has been managing work at home as well as at the factory easily as the business unit just some meters away from her house.

Her dream has turned into reality as she has been able to start a venture, which has been giving livelihood to at least seven girls.

However, she said that due to the frequent lockdown, she has not been able to do marketing of her product outside Budgam district. “We will soon start marketing our detergent outside the district,” she said.

Moreover, inadequate electricity has affected her business, she said, adding that the non-availability of electricity has been forcing them to work during the night hours. “The difficulties would end only when the adequate electricity is supplied,” she said.

Meanwhile, she appealed girls and women to work hard and achieve their goal in the life—(KNO)
