COVID-19 claims nine more lives in Kashmir, toll 527 in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 14: The death toll due to Novel Coronavirus has mounted to 527 in Jammu and Kashmir as nine more patients from the Valley, who were tested positive earlier, died on Friday at different hospitals.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that nine patients who died include a 65-year-old woman from Buchpora Srinagar, a 62-year-old man from Akingam Anantnag, a 70-year-old man from Gulab Bagh Srinagar, a 55-year-old woman from Kathi Darwaza Srinagar, an 85-year-old man from Sopore, a 60-year-old woman from Chanapora Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla, a 70-year-old man Pampore Pulwama and a 65-year-old man from Batamallo Srinagar.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Buchpora Srinagar who was admitted on 07 August, a patient from Akingam Anantnag who was admitted on 29 July, a patient from Gulab Bagh Srinagar who was admitted on 28 July, a patient from Kathi Darwaza who was admitted on 09 August and an 85-year-old man from Sopore who was admitted on 27 July died on Friday.

An official from SMHS told KNO that a patient from Chanapora Srinagar who was admitted on 05 August, a patient from Pattan Baramulla who was admitted on 08 August with pneumonia, a patient from Pampore who was admitted on 06 August with pneumonia and a patient from Batamallo who was admitted on 04 August died on Friday.

He said that the patient from Pampore was tested negative after his death. 

With nine more deaths, the death toll in the Union Territory has reached to 527 including 488 from Kashmir division and 39 from Jammu division—(KNO)
