Srinagar, Apr 17: Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr—the night that marks the revelation of the first verses of the holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), will be observed tonight across Jammu & Kashmir.

The biggest congregational prayers are expected to be held at Dargah Hazratbal and at historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar, which remained closed for the prayers last Friday.

A top official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there will be no restrictions on the congregational prayers tonight. “The Jamia Masjid will remain open for the Shab-e-Qadr tonight,” he said.

The blessed night of Shab-e-Qadr is considered the most important night in the Islamic calendar where Muslims spend the whole night attending the religious gathering and praying all night till dawn.
