Srinagar, May 13: Reacting to the victory in Karnataka assembly polls, President of Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vikar Rasool Wani on Saturday said the people have rejected the religious politics and hatred, saying that the victory has boosted the enthusiasm among the party workers across.

JKPCC president told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Congress party is happy over the results emerging from Karnataka, stating that Rahul Gandhi came out with a slogan to connect the people with the nation— Bharat Jodo Yatra, while the BJP came up with polarization, Hijab politics, and hatred.

“BJP was in the impression that they would do nothing and during the election time they would polarize the situation and spread hatred or will give the slogans of nationalism and they did the same thing in Karnataka, but Rahul Gandhi came out with a slogan of Bharat Jodo Yatra and today that has changed into a success,” he said.

He said that despite the Prime Minister himself sitting there in Karnataka for campaigning, nobody listened to them. He further said the BJP ruined J&K by downgrading it from a State to UT, saying that their promises especially to the people of Jammu stand nowhere, which they made in 2014.

“There is no employment, inflation is not decreasing, and mining resources are being given to outsiders, discomforting employees, imprisoning people, doing everything and at last they think that they would get seats doing Hindu- Muslim politics,” Wani said.

JKPCC president said that such would be the situation of BJP that they won’t be even able to secure two seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

“They are scared of holding elections, and since the last nine years they are not doing that and after the Karnataka results, I think BJP would run more away from holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

He said that whenever the elections are held in J&K, they would hold a rigorous campaign against the BJP in J&K to aware and highlight what they have done for the people during their tenure—(KNO)
