The protesters tried to march towards Lal Chowk, however, police stopped them and detained at least 7 protesters including Sajad Parray.

Casual Labours Of Estates Department Srinagar headed by Nisar Firdous emerged in Press Enclave and staged a protest demanding regularization of their service. The protesters said that from past 10 to 15 years they have been yearning for regularization and despite promises, nothing has been done by the government in this regard.

Contractual Lecturers also appeared in Press Enclave Srinagar and staged a protest. These 10+2 Contractual Lecturers were headed by Muhammad Muzafar Bhat.

Bhat said that they were disengaged in August 2109 without any reason. They sought intervention of LG Manoj Sinha and demanded regularization and implementation of Minimum Wages Act.

Polytechnic students of different semesters from different colleges also held a protest against Technical Board and demanded Mass promotion or extra time for preparation of exams. They said that Technical Board is confusing them. “Sometimes, it say mass promotion will be give to all the students and sometimes it advises to prepare for the examination. We are totally confused,” they told KNT.
