Srinagar, Sep 1: The Baramulla Police has been cracking down on drug peddlers in the district, registering 213 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arresting 343 drug peddlers so far this year. The police has also attached properties worth 2.1 crore rupees of drug smugglers.
The police has been conducting regular raids and searches in different parts of the district, and has seized a large quantity of contraband drugs, including heroin, brown sugar, and charas. The police has also arrested several drug peddlers, including some who were wanted by the police.
In addition to arresting drug peddlers, the police has also been taking steps to attach the properties of drug smugglers. The police has attached three houses, three vehicles, and cash worth Rs.1.2 crore rupees in Pattan, Kreeri, Nambla, and Kamalkote.
