Srinagar, Sep 27: The selection trials for the Jammu and Kashmir Kalarippayattu Team, set to represent the state at the 37th National Games 2023 in Goa from October 25 to November 9, were conducted with great success at the JKSC Hall in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
A total of 27 athletes from Jammu and Kashmir showcased their skills during the rigorous trials. Among the talented participants, two outstanding athletes, namely Prince Aqib Yousuf and Danish Ali Bhat from the Dynamic Sports Academy in Budgam, emerged victorious and secured their spots in the prestigious National Games.
Speaking to the media, one of the selected athletes expressed his excitement and gratitude, saying, “During the trials, 27 athletes from J&K participated, from which 2 athletes, namely Prince Aqib Yousuf and Danish Ali Bhat from Dynamic Sports Academy in Budgam, were selected for the upcoming National Games 2023 in Goa.”
The selection trials were conducted under the watchful supervision of Mr. Danish Sharma, General Secretary of the Kalarippayattu Association of Jammu and Kashmir (KAJK), and were graced by the presence of esteemed individuals such as Mr. Shabir Ahmed, Mr. Harsh Vardhan Raina, Executive Members of KAJK, CA Lalit Gupta, President of KAJK, Sh. Manjeet Singh, Chairman of KAJK, and Sh. T P Singh, a respected veteran athlete of Jammu and Kashmir, who attended as special guests during the event.
The selection of Prince Aqib Yousuf and Danish Ali Bhat showcases the immense talent and dedication of athletes from Jammu and Kashmir, and they are now set to represent their state with pride and determination at the 37th National Games in Goa.
