Kupwara, 17 Oct : In a significant development, the Police Post Kuligam received a written application from Abdul Majeed Sheikh, son of Qamran Sheikh and resident of Batnad Khurhama, reporting a burglary in which some unknown culprits had stolen sheep from his shed located in the village of Batnard Kuligam.
Promptly responding to the complaint, Case FIR No 84/2023 U/S 379 IPC was registered at PS Lalpora. The investigation was launched with determination, led by SHO Lalpora, Inspector Malik Nasir, and ICPP Khurhama, PSI Azhar Shakeel, under the supervision of DySP Lolab, Mr. Sarfraz Bashir.
As the investigation unfolded, three suspects were identified and apprehended:
- Mohd Qasim Khatana, son of Khair Mohd Khatana
- Mohd Ashraf Khatana, son of Yaar Mohd Khatana
- Pervaiz Ahmad Khatana, son of Baggu Khatana
All of them were residents of Batnard Khurhama. During questioning, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and provided information about the incident. Subsequently, five stolen sheep were recovered from them.
The community has commended the diligent efforts of the police in solving this case. This successful resolution reaffirms the commitment of the police to take stern action against individuals engaged in any form of criminal activity, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
